Lithuania Jan. Trade Deficit Widens

Wednesday, the Statistics Lithuania announced that the trade deficit stood at LTL 458.8 million in January, widening from LTL 122.6 million deficit in the previous month. A year earlier, the trade deficit was LTL 4.41 billion.

Exports dropped 3.3% on an annual basis to LTL 3.07 billion in January from LTL 3.7 billion in the previous month. At the same time, imports increased 5.6% to LTL 3.53 billion.

On a monthly basis, exports and imports decreased by 16.9% and 7.6%, respectively in January.
